Farley Bean | This is how I survive the Dog Days of Summer! π
Did you know the Farmers’ Almanac considers the Dog Days of Summer to be a 40-day stretch beginning around July 3 and ending around August 11? These are the hottest, most sweltering days of the year—when the sun beats down with unrelenting intensity and even the shade feels like an oven. But Farley Bean isn’t letting the heat win!
Farley has turned surviving into an art form. Step one: hydration is key. Whether it’s slurping from a cool bowl of water in the shade or chomping on homemade frozen treats (peanut butter and banana pupsicles, anyone?), he keeps his fluids up in the tastiest ways. Step two: strategic napping. Farley knows exactly where the coolest tile floors are in the house and when the breeze comes through the screen door. You’ll often find him stretched out like royalty, one paw draped dramatically, as if to say, “Not today, heatwave.”
Early morning strolls and late-evening sniffari adventures help him avoid the blistering midday sun. And when it’s just too hot? Farley Bean becomes a certified couch potato, happily watching the world go by from his window perch.
So while the Dog Days might be relentless, Farley proves that with a little planning and a lot of lounging, a pup can still thrive. π
