When my grandmother died, it felt like I had lost the one person who truly understood me. At the will reading, my family sat confidently as money, property, and jewelry were distributed. Everyone received something valuable—everyone except me.
I wondered if she had forgotten me until the lawyer paused and looked directly at me. Instead of money or property, I was given a simple box containing five old, rusted clocks. The room immediately filled with laughter, and I struggled to hide my embarrassment.

The laughter disappeared. The same relatives who had mocked my inheritance now sat in stunned silence. My brother questioned why she had chosen me, but I already knew the answer.
